Safety instructions:

Handling candles

• Never leave unattended; extinguish even if the room is left for a short time.
• Only use on flame-retardant surfaces.
• Place at a sufficient safety distance from easily flammable objects, such as curtains, drapes, and the ceiling. (Distance to ceiling: min. 40 cm; distance between two candles min. 10 cm)
• Always avoid drafts.
• To prevent dripping and sooting, generally avoid tilting and, if necessary, trim the wick – with the flame extinguished.
• Never leave children unattended with burning candles.
• Pay particular attention when pets are in the room. Their fur can easily ignite if it gets into the flame.
• Allow candles and tealights to cool for some time after extinguishing the flame before transporting or putting them away, as the wick of tealights can slip out of the center of the tealight, and this can pose an increased fire hazard (see Figure 2).
• Tealights may only be lit in suitable, non-combustible containers (e.g. metal, aluminum, or glass).
• Never light in rooms if the item is only suitable for outdoor use (e.g. garden torch).
• Never extinguish candles and tealights with water.

Special note on handling mood lighting

• Never use the mood lighting without the spacer included in the scope of delivery (see Figure 1). This ensures a safe distance between the tealight and the mood lighting.
• Before lighting or re-lighting the tealight, make sure that the wick is placed in the center of the tealight (see point 8). If necessary, replace the tealight.
